013: Hilary Bryant & Ashley Rowe – AFTERING



In this episodeTim talks to independent filmmakers, Hilary Bryant and Ashley Rowe, about their creation Aftering. Together they explore this new web comedy depicting the life of Dawn, a divorcee who magically receives an eccentric divorce fairy named Astrid, who helps navigate the difficult yet hilarious days following the end of marriage. The duo also discuss their big moves to L.A., mindset shifts from theatre to film, and the challenges of independent film production (especially during a pandemic). Other subjects include: toys from childhood, favorite movies and songs, and how the certain little things that make your day better can become redundant during prolonged global crisis.

After a bit of a hiatus, Tim talks to director Mary Yost and actor Hunter Green about the Owen Theatre’s production of Godspell. They discuss how this 1971 musical of biblical proportions continues to speak to the twenty-first century. Hunter talks about searching deep into his soul to portray Jesus. Mary explores her collaboration with others, relaying how this heartwarming production was built from the ensemble up. We also converse about road donuts, sleep schedules, and what makes a hero.

006 – Bill Giffen: TALK RADIO



After a bit of a hiatus, Tim talks to actor Bill Giffen about his role in the Dirt Dogs Theatre Company production of Talk Radio. They discuss how this 1988 Pulitzer Prize winning drama continues to speak to the twenty-first century. Bill also cleverly declares a favorite day trip destination, and recalls his early joys and challenges of teaching theatre to kids. Finally, the episode ends with a fantastic performance from The Merchant of Venice and some slight embarrassment for the host.
